Registry Titles, Company Accounts, Reland Properties Limited,
Local Development Framework and other news items |

Much work has been done behind the scenes
over the last year, however, it is difficult to report a lot
of the progress at present without compromising our efforts
by disclosing useful information to Gladedale. But we can report
the following:
1. Copies of the Land Registry Titles have been obtained. More
details...
2. Copies of the Gladedale Urban Development Limited (GUDL)
company records have been obtained. GUDL is Company No. 04113718.
It is 100% owned by Gladedale. The Bank of Scotland however
have provided the capital by way of a debenture and mortgage
for the purchase of the Streatley land and other properties.
No mention is made of the 50/50 joint venture that Gladedale
have told SPAG exists between them and the Bank of Scotland.

Note however, Mark Jackson now signs himself Managing Director
Reland.
The Reland
web site states: "Reland is the commercial and mixed-use
development and investment division (for England and Wales)
of Gladedale Group".

Change of directors advised 28/06/06.
3. Two members of the SPAG Committee met with the West Berkshire
Council Planning Policy Group Team Leader on the 24th
February 2005. This group is responsible for the preparation
of the Local Development Framework document which replaces the
Local Plan. More Details...
4. Green Issues issued their report on the Gladedale Exhibition
on 27th January 2005. This
showed that 260 people attended, but only 14 provided written
comments. Of these, 6 were totally opposed to any development.
Of course Green Issues blames SPAG for "actively discouraging
people from filling out the forms". However, our advice
on the day was "If you don't want any development - it’s
unwise to give them any feedback in writing on comment forms".
Consequently the lack of written responses supporting Gladedale,
in some way or another, can be interpreted as more than 95%
don't want any development – which reflects the same percentage
of those approached to sign our opposition petition ! Gladedale
have told us that since they had so few comments on their exhibition
outline plans for housing, they intend to base their planning
application generally on the outlines tabled at their 2005 exhibition.
5. The Parish Plan was published in August 2006 and, resulting
from a residents questionnaire, includes amongst it's Action
Plan many relevant objectives. Principally: To defend the village
from unwanted development; To retain the existing village Settlement
Boundary; and To set up a trust fund to buy areas of land critical
to the retention of the village envelope.
6. SPAG have produced two detailed reports regarding the Gladedale
land holdings which will be made available to residents to utilise
in making objections to Gladedale's planning application when
this is presented. However, for the present it is better that
these are not put in the public domain! |
