Background


2004
26th March – Gladedale land purchased in Streatley from Mr Minter.

May - Gladedale announce by way of an open letter in the Goring Gap News that they have purchased land in Streatley for the purpose of development. A map showing the land was included.

2005
September - All the residents of Streatley were invited to Presentations held in the Morrell Room. To control numbers three meetings were held on the 1st, 12th and 16th of September 2005. The committee explained the importance of maintaining the Settlement Boundary (Village Envelope) at all costs and underlined the message not to write to Green Issues and Gladedale (as such correspondence was being used by them to their advantage) and to instead direct any correspondence to the Parish Council and West Berkshire Council Planning department.

2006
20th January – Gladedale hold an exhibition at the Swan Hotel to present their "sketch" ideas for the development of the land.

29th and 30th September – Gladedale hold their second exhibition at the Swan Hotel for residents to view details of their proposed development plans and strategy. For details of this exhibition content click here...

2007
9th July - Gladedale/Reland attended the Streatley Parish Council meeting on Monday, 9th July to make a brief "pre-planning application" presentation of their proposals. These proposals were as those described under our 15th June 2007 news item.

2009
9th March - Gladedale made a Presentation as part of the Streatley Parish Council monthly committee meeting outlining their proposals to submit a planning application and their principal alternative if this should fail. The following document records the main points of their presentation and the open discussion after they had departed. (Note This Project Team explained in a small exhibition in the Swan before the meeting that they now had a new project team. They disclosed that not only did they have get up to speed, but that they who were somewhat critical of the project strategy to date and the extensive investment)
